Dr. Carlson completed her undergraduate education at Alma College in Alma, Michigan. She received both her M.A. and Ph.D. from the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Houston in Houston, Texas, with an emphasis on child/adolescent psychology and family therapy. She completed an internship in clinical psychology at the Indiana University School of Medicine – Department of Psychiatry in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Following internship, Dr. Carlson established her private practice, first in a large group practice and now in a smaller setting. She has been in private practice in Indianapolis for more than 20 years. She works with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of presenting issues, with a strong emphasis on mood and anxiety disorders. She also works in family therapy and couples treatment
